Temptation Voted "Best Vegan Ice Cream" in Peta 2 Libby Awards
Here is the press release from Peta2:
We Love Soy, Inc., an all-vegan company run by a group of Glen Ellyn entrepreneurs, has been presented with a Libby Award by peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organization. The company's Temptation Vegan Ice Cream was voted Best Vegan Ice Cream by visitors to peta2's Web site as part of the second annual Libby Awards (Libby is short for "liberation"), which honor animal-friendly people and products.
With heavenly desserts like Temptation Vegan Ice Cream, We Love Soy is luring people to go vegan, making it a big favorite among peta2's nearly 800,000 e-news subscribers. Delectable flavors like Peach Cobbler, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Fair Trade CertifiedTM Coffee make it easy to ditch dairy ice cream. After all, consumption of dairy foods and other animal products has been conclusively linked to heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases, in addition to causing tremendous suffering for cows and their calves.
Temptation Vegan Ice Cream beat out other popular vegan ice creams made by So Delicious, Tofutti, and MaggieMudd.
"It's official: Everybody loves We Love Soy's decadent vegan ice cream," says Lara Sanders, peta2's senior youth marketing coordinator. "We commend the makers of Temptation Vegan Ice Cream for having the courage and compassion to inspire people to adopt healthier and more humane eating habits."
Other Libby Award categories include Veg Athlete of the Year, Best Animal-Friendly Band, Best New Fur Foe, Best Animal-Friendly Movie, Best Animal-Friendly Clothing Company, Best Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Company, and Best MySpace Activist. Winners will receive plaques and will be featured on peta2.com.
