According to the press, temptation...

  • Temptation Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough -------------------------- So, on Friday I was going to take a trip to Baby Cakes, here in NYC. I was really tired though and decided to just stop at the Whole Foods on Bowery. I am so happy I did! I was looking in the ice cream aisle and I noticed pints I hadn’t noticed before so I looked a little closer. What I found was heaven in desert form. Temptation Vegan Icecream had several flavors available in Whole Foods: French Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peach Cobbler, Strawberry, Fair Trade Certified Chocolate, Fair Trade Certified Coffee, Fair Trade Certified Green Tea and Mint Chocolate Chip. Any fatty would understand my automatic pull towards the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, it was love at first site. The ice cream reminded me of a creamy version of the vanilla chip Italian ices I used to eat in the summer here in Brooklyn but with a delicious addition: cookie dough. I found myself fighting with myself trying to get the last wonderful chunks of cookie dough while simultaneously trying to allow the ice cream to melt slowly in my mouth. Seriously, this is on my top two list of favorite frozen deserts! The awesome: This ice cream is so eff-ing delicious. Honestly, I couldn’t stop eating. The price is super moderate for vegan ice cream and the containers are really cute and are clearly labeled “dairy-free” and “vegan”. Temptation ice cream is produced on dairy-free facilities and is owned by animal rights/environmental responsible dudes. They also have soft serve which I want to try real bad!! The blah: This isn’t a real blah. I was trying to come up with a blah and the only thing I could think of was that, this isn’t a pint of ice cream to share with your friend. You are going to want to eat the whole thing. And oh yeah, I wouldn’t have minded getting some more cookie dough. Extra pluses: There are more flavors for me to try which already makes my upcoming weeks more exciting. Also, the their website (link above) is extremely informative. • I am gonna print out and give our local vegan grocery(sidecar) your order sheet. And I am gonna force them to order from you.

  • My personal favorite is the Chocolate Chip cookie dough, although I do love the chocolate chip too, and I make my morning banana smoothies with a small scoop of your French Vanilla. If ever you need a volunteer to taste-try a new flavor, I'm your girl!

  • I've been eating your ice cream for about two months now, and I have to say, it's ******* delicious. Excellent job.

  • Whoa! This stuff should come with a warning label. "May be addictive!"
I got chocolate chip cookie dough. Wow! Big chunks of cookie dough and creamy vanilla. The label actually does say "Twice the daily recommended allowance of cookie dough."
    Thumbs up!
I took it to a potluck party with me. No one else was vegan, and despite the name, no one was tempted to try it. Oh well, more for me then.
The host thought I should take the tub back home with me since she has "regular" ice cream that she's more likely to eat. No problem, I said. WHAT was I THINKING? This stuff is addictive! Well, I put it in the back of the freezer so I would stop eating it--before I would make myself sick.
Anyway, it's a treat that's highly recommended. However, I don't think that it's being sold all over yet, but I'm sure that it will, so be on the lookout for it!

  • Hello, Thank you for making a gluten-free and dairy free ice cream! (ok...I know you call it frozen desert...lol) I just made a delicious desert using the vanilla and chocolate that ALL my family can eat and enjoy. It can be very difficult finding products and manufacturers that care about allergins. I bought the products not knowing that they were gluten-free...only found out afterwards from visiting your website. I didn't see any labeling on the outside of the package stating they were gluten-free...perhaps you could include it next printing? I will buy this product again...and again! Jim

  • "Wow! Your ice cream is awesome. My 8 year-old is not easily impressed. She is allergic to dairy and has had every bad version of dairy-free ice cream there is. She says you are the best. I will be telling my other dairy-free friends about your ice cream today. My daughter would also like to know if you give tours of your factory. She also wants to know if the funny guy with the leaves up his nose gives them. Thanks for making this ice cream. You Rock!!!"

  • The other day I was walking in the organic section of Wegman's when I noticed a new type of non-dairy ice cream, Temptation. I've always gotten Tofutti (R) ice cream in the past, but the flavors have never really been normal. When I saw Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, I though I'd die. I have been severely allergic to all dairy products since I was born, and this is the flavor I've always wanted to have more than anything. I bought it and loved it...
Thank you for making it possible for people like me to have normal desserts that we wouldn't be able to eat if it wasn't for your company. Not to mention that the taste is great. I've had the Mint Chocolate Chip kind as well and it was equally delicious!

  • On Yelp! (www.yelp.com) "FIVE STARS. Once upon a time I ate dairy and didn't really like ice cream. Step in Chicago Soy Dairy! On a whim, I decided to buy some Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough soy ice cream. Suddenly, the whole ice cream thing made sense. All those ice cream ads featuring women spooning in ice cream with a smirk as though they're [doing something oh so wrong]*... I understood! Within a week, my husband and I had polished off that bad boy. Seriously, if you're reading this, you should go out and buy some. I mean it, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW AND GET YOUR[SELF*] TO THE NEAREST HEALTH FOOD STORE!" *note: suggestive language has been replaced to respect the family audience of this website.

  • Temptation shouldn't need to beg for pity votes [re: VegNews Veggie Awards], cause Temptation IS the best ice cream. I feel lucky to have a store here in Indy that sells it. It's the only soy ice cream I'll eat - the others all have weird coaty mouth feel. Too bad the world may never know. TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

  • Temptation is by far the ultimate for any of the ice creams that are out there. I have had my friends try Temptation over regular ice cream. Now they are hooked, that's all they buy. I will forever promote Temptation. Thanks for developing such a fine vegan ice cream. I wonder if W ever tried Temptation...maybe this would mellow him out and end to this stupid, greed filled war.
